Keb’ Mo’ and special guest Shawn Colvin lit up The Celebrity Theatre with humor, heart, and blues magic, leaving a sold-out Phoenix crowd dancing, laughing, and longing for more.
Keb’ Mo’, joined by special guest Shawn Colvin, took the stage at the Celebrity Theatre, where the two masterful storytellers captivated the Phoenix audience, leaving them eager for more. A sold-out show that was worth every penny, Keb’ Mo’ proves time and again why he’s one of the greatest blues performers on the planet. With five GRAMMY Awards, 14 Blues Foundation Awards, and over 50 years of performing under his belt, he deserves a spot in every conversation about the all-time greats.
Shawn Colvin kicked off the night, with Keb’ Mo’ joining her for the first few songs. An ideal opener, her sharp guitar work and clever, humorous lyrics kept the crowd laughing and engaged throughout her set. Her style blended seamlessly with the vibe of the evening, making for a perfect lead-in to Keb’s performance.

Keb’ would join her again to wrap things up with a breakup song followed by a murder plot, leaving the fans in stitches. The two even cracked jokes about the stage spinning too fast, wondering aloud if they might just fly off. After a warm thank-you to the crowd, Colvin exited, while Keb’ stuck around and dove straight into his set. It was a brilliant way to kick things off – by never leaving at all.

His setlist was packed with gems, yet he still left out so many fan favorites, a testament to the sheer depth of his catalog. Throughout the night, the packed house shouted out requests, and in true Keb fashion, he kept it light. When one persistent fan kept calling for more banjo, Keb grinned and replied, “One banjo song is enough,” earning laughs all around.
It’s only when you don’t hear certain classics that you realize just how extensive his body of work truly is—a feather in his cap that keeps fans coming back, always wanting more. “Gov’t Cheese” was one of the early highlights, immediately hooking the crowd. A few songs later, he launched into “More Than One Way Home,” one of his best-loved tunes, bringing the audience to its feet for the night’s first standing ovation.
Keb’ Mo’ kept the momentum going, rolling out hit after hit before closing the set with a heartfelt rendition of “I Remember You.” After a brief break, he returned to the stage with warm, sincere gratitude as genuine as his music.
He then launched into “She Just Wants to Dance,” setting off a wave of joy as couples stood up and danced together, creating a lively, feel-good scene that filled the room with smiles. It was a night of pure connection and great music – a reminder that Keb’ Mo’ truly has something for everyone.
