Keb’ Mo’ to play PBS Special at The White House

President and Mrs. Obama will host a celebration of American music by inviting various artists to the East Room of the White House for a special PBS-televised concert held on October 14th, and premiering on January 8th on PBS.

“A Celebration of American Creativity: In Performance at the White House” will feature appearances by Keb’ Mo’, Smokey Robinson, James Taylor, Buddy Guy, Queen Latifah, Usher, Trombone Shorty, MC Lyte, Audra McDonald, Esperanza Spalding, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Carol Burnett.

The event commemorates the 50th anniversary of Lyndon Johnson’s National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act

Also planned is a Michelle Obama student workshop with Smokey Robinson, Keb’ Mo’, MC Lyte, Esperanza Spalding and others before the evening performance.


BLUESAmericana nominated for 3 GRAMMYs

Keb’ Mo’s latest album BLUESAmericana has been nominated for Best Americana Album, as well as Best Engineered Non-Classical Album (Ross Hogarth & Casey Wasner, engineers; Richard Dodd, mastering engineer).

The album’s hit single “The Old Me Better” has also been nominated for Best American Roots Performance.
